| that is for *factory assembled* engines. There is a huge difference between a factory engine and a high performance rebuild. Cross-hatch is intentionally cut into cylinder walls on high performance rebuilds. If you go out and run a new rebuild balls to the wall, you roll the peaks into the valleys and kill any chance of oil sticking to the cylinder walls in the future
